A transfer flight at night!?
Stupid idea of the stupid army...
Ah, why I am bothering .. so let's go .. uhm .. FLY!

No map, no lights, not nothing! This is not flying, this is guessing...

A light, a village in the night .. but which one?

We finally managed to find the new airfield. Stupid army having a stupid army party...

Past meets future in this crazy kind of a war!
Exchanging reconnaissance results with the cavalry.

landed on rough and dangerous ground to make contact with the army troops - delivering orders and reconnaissance results
But the reliable Jenny makes it possible.

Our campaign is over! Exhausted, injured, all planes lost except for two, we returned to the US.
The aeroplanes and their pilots did what they where expected to do and more than that. But with lack of support and understanding for their needs by the army leadership.
the results stayed behind the expectations.
A reward, as a remembrance of this first campaign of the US Air Service is all, that is left...

... and the gloomy foreboding of what is about to come ... over the battlefields of that distant conflict behind the great ocean ...

I think, a fantastic little campaign!
It is sth. complete different from what one .. at least I have seen in Il-2 so far. To me, it has something of an old adventure game.
Very eloquent written introductions and orders and a collection of interesting facts.
I learned something new from a chapter of a ... maybe forgotten chapter of american and war history.

Thank you, Vampire!
