How to make rivers covered with ice ?

In spite of that I made winter Irkutsk and Transacaucasia map with frozen rivers, I now forget how to do it with Voronezh map.
Can anybody help me, in stepwise manner at best, how to do it, please?  (Anyway, I am 83 yyears old.)

Possible entries for your winter load.ini

TEMPERATURE =  -10 (or any relevant negative temp)

WaterNoise = land/SnowNoise.tga

BeachLand  = water/Snow1.tga

[WATER]
Water    = water/WaterIce.tga

I am not yet succesful with the task.
Where I can find the file SnowNoise.tga ,please ?
Can you be so kind  and show the picture of frozen rivers on the Voronezh map with the entries you suggested ?

Therebis a snownoise.tga on the rrr stalingrad map from Cyberolas. I will try to get the textures however already if you set the month as January and negative temperature all the rivers should be frozen

They are not frozen, sorry.
I get SnowNoise.tga file from Stalingrad RRR map, but still no frozen rivers.

It works in my 4.12.2 Modact 5.3 install

here is the complete wload.ini I have used the average mean temperature for the month of December in Vhoronhez Oblast taken from Internet. I am sure that in winter 42-43 it would have been even colder

By the way you should also add the Osk_wood.tga series to the textures included with this Map

After adding [buildings.Plate$airfield_grass] to my static.ini I also managed to fly








nice map but the summer version is more pleasant to fly

On page 36 of Kevinp's Texture Tutorial there is a way to make frozen rivers in winter maps.

Here's what he says:

Winter Maps
If you want a winter map with frozen rivers & oceans you need to make six
main changes in the load.ini & you will also have to make an ed_map_t that
is all black so the vehicles can move on the ice.

CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER This needs to be WINTER not just to
change the skins to winter colours but it also makes the aircraft & artillery
explode when they hit the ice instead of making a splash.

MONTH This Should be 11, 12, 1, 2 or 3 so it snows instead of rains.

TEMPERATURE This needs to be -1 or lower for the water to freeze.
//WaterNoiseAnimStart = Water/Animated/WaterNoise00.tga
This needs to be deleted or turned off by putting two forward slashes in front.

[WATER]
Water = water/WaterIce.tga Change the texture in the [WATER]
section to "WaterIce.tga" to make the ocean look like ice.
WaterNoise = land/SnowNoise.tga Also change the WaterNoise
texture to "SnowNoise.tga"

 If you want winter camouflage but with a liquid ocean you need to add this
line WATER_STATE = LIQUID The temperature will have to be zero or
above because it doesn't actually make the water liquid it only enables the
water splash effect.

WATER_STATE = LIQUID

Rivers are now covered by snowy ice , after I added the file East/stalingrad_winter/WaterIceTL.tga as required by Shift_Tab Il2 command.
