About the engine of the Bf-109F-3
« on: September 10, 2024, 07:10:59 PM »

Currently, Bf-109F-3 has two mods.

Both mods are designed to make it difficult for the plane to even take off.

In this state, even if the take off is successful, it seems that the combat flight is impossible and must land immediately.

Yes, if the flight is difficult, that's all if I don't board. But if Bf-109F-3s are 'Wingmen'...

So, there seems to be a need to fix.

Or this plane should not be used at all for campaigns and single missions.

Why are you posting this in the BAT section? There is no Bf-109F-3 in BAT, so this should be moved to someplace else.
Take it up with whatever thread that mod comes from, I guess?

Oh, I got it. I installed this plane on my BAT 4.1.

From what you say, Bf-109F-3 doesn't seem to be listed on BAT 4.2 or higher.

I think this means it already know all about this problem. If not, it would already be listed on the BAT...

Actually, the engine problem of Bf-109F-3 looks the same on my SAS Modact.

Eventually, I think I no need to worry about this plane appearing on any mission.

2009
SASCirX's Bf109 Mod (not contained in BAT as far as I know) + optional BKs Upgrade (2019)

2013
BAT content (as crude base)

open F-4 and select the 2nd Loadout gives an F-3 (literally)

upon browsing BAT Bf109 Loadouts you'll see a lot of merged versions... ;)

Dunno if that explains a bit things.
On old F-3 Mod you're free to use or leave hands off, if too complicated.

If you want a better Engine request one, but historically it says they were shit as fugg.
So a reliable engine would be fictional. The curiosity, BAT F-3 is reliable (Hugh, magic, blasphemy...) Hint, hint, hint
It's just no alternate Slot. Why would you need anyway?
You need a Modder doing fictional stuff. Possible, sure.

This old mod is related to the attempt made by HSFX and Histomod to have a more realistic engine behavior so need a careful engine warm up, don't accelerate to quickly, monitor the radiator oil pressure etc etc.  While it is nice from time to time to fly in a more realistic way for sure will take some joy away and cause a bit of frustration. At the end of the day these pilots were spending months in training an log in plenty of flying hours just to grab the basics.

I don't remember exactly, but it seems like there was an F-3 on a mission(...maybe not for BAT. I always try to do all the mod missions on BAT).

It wasn't my on-board plane. It was probably a formation plane. That's why F-3 exists on my air list.

The modders, which designed this F-3, seems to have designed the engine very historically. I can feel it by reading the attached Readme file.

So I'm just lamenting my lack of flying skills, I don't want a new engine.

The only wonder is that F-4 has the same engine, but it's designed to fly smoothly. If so, I think F-3 would have been nice to at least keep the engine from shutting down, even if there was little use for it.

Thank you.

The wonder of Modding mixed with reality,
you can chose to give it a hand and fly this. That's why I endorse this Mod too.

To hush away doubts this Mod is perfect to wind down expectations about your abilities,
also I used it to train myself back in days. You couldn't freak out with it. Some use buttkickers, SAS had the F-3 Mod.
You need to have focus on other things, stay within imits. And as the warning, historical briefing says,
stay out of dog fights, think what kinda Missions it would have ensued (shopping, Cognac Bottle carriage or getting sober)
propably not going Solo and stirr up a wasp's nest at Hawkinge? Won't you?
Or you do and wanna see your survival skills.

Just enjoy it
