New statistics for on line game
« on: December 10, 2024, 03:11:00 PM »

Hi all! my team and me fly twice a week on hiperlobby and we just love it, BAT 4.2.3 right now that is, but moving to 4.3. We would like to know if it's possible to add more type of score to the existing ones. I mean for example to give points to torpedo hits even if the carrier does not sink. or other ships as well. Or if for example we hit hangars or important buildings. There would be a plectora of things to add. My question is, is it moddable? Not only for multiplayer of course, but in multiplayer it would be a game changer!

Personally I would like to see a menu/system in place which allows a Mission Builder and/or
Campaign Designer to allocate points at whatever rate they please to any Aircraft/Ship/Vehicle/Artillery
or Static Object ( Including Bridges ).
There would have to be a default value , of course , but having this in a format which the Builder could easily change
in the FMB would be very useful indeed.

A quick and dirty option might be to add in your mission within FMB, an obscure unique object within the hangar or building.  It gets destroyed when the building is hit, then you'll get points for it.
I've done exactly that for our heavy bomber campaign....liberally scattering German fuel trucks, for example, amongst factory buildings of the target area.

This is the way.

... to award points for random bombings. Or you could assign a target recon to the area if you want to limit the points. You reached the target, dropped the load, got the points.

The approach of tomoose, to hide point-awarding objects inside other static objects, is certainly a viable workaround.  The downside is two-fold:
1) To add up to a meaningful point count could require a considerable number of these objects, given that individually they are worth a conparative pittance. And the mission scoring will show these objects as destroyed in some abundance, they being the stand-in for the real objective (hangar, etc.)
2) These objects standing in for the actual objective generate their own effects upon destruction. The potential for game-engine-choking explosion and fire/smoke effects is considerable when already numerous bombs are popping off.

Great idea.
A small bridge can be an important logistic link. A ship/truck can carry a VIP. Etc...
