I think I understand. There is not a specific model at the moment, and in particualar with regard to unarmed / civilian ships, since I know that the guns / weapons to add more complexity.

But what you are saying is that the simpler / smaller size models, such as the ones in the links I posted earlier in this thread, are easier than the more detailed ones, such as (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/symphony-of-the-seas-cruise-ship-92d5ef0e3fab430ba39746fa5015e723).

Is there a maximum size (in polygons / MB e.t.c.) that simply is too big for the game).

Here is a link to the topic of our colleague western0221. https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20394.0.html  There are many answers to questions here. He writes "One ship can consist of no more than 255 elements.
Each element can consist of no more than 2800 polygons. However, taking into account the fact that not all players have sufficiently powerful computers, it is recommended not to model individual elements of more than 1000 polygons.
" 255x2800=714000 Theoretically, this is the maximum number of polygons.

Hi Tvister,

Regarding '.3ds' files / other files that the model is imported into blender as, is there a tutorial in the superschool regarding it, as well as how you export it into the IL2 format (the hier, mat and msh, e.t.c files you see in the '3do' folder).

Good afternoon. I used the "Blender Help Guide" for my version. I have 2.76. Export - converted to 2.76 bbexporter. The link was somewhere on SAS. Once upon a time, I wrote a tutorial on creating a ship in blender. Unfortunately there is no exact link. Look at aviaskins in the "modeling and design" section.

hi, so I have Blender 2.76 and I did the same as you, I just immortalized AOBA from the default folder from the game War on the sea and only thanks to the Asset studio Gui program I unpacked it and this ship was created, but they are not my complete idol, but AOBA. NAGARA. TONE. TAKAO , I saw in the documents it would be good to have them in the il-2 simulator in time ... I'll try to get units for JTF -from Wargames Red dragon, but it has files packed into something I don't know, so I'm studying on.... on the one hand, I think I can have Blender 4.30 and it should work the same as 2.76 or I'm wrong ...

Good afternoon. As far as I know, Blender 2.76 is the latest version with which MSH-HIM export can work.
The sixth heavy cruiser division of Japan, (Furutaka type, Aoba type) is very cool! To be honest, I really want to do them myself, especially since I have all the files. But the “Light Cruisers of Japan” project is very extensive and I don’t know when I will be able to start new projects.

yes, don't worry, you'll be the only one doing them ... on the one hand, it was just a test or attempt, we will look forward to the light cruiser Nagara, Tenyra, etc. from you ... I'll make vehicles and tanks..now I'm making BM-30 Smerch MRLS for (BAT) JTF club otherwise thank you for the valuable advice
