DOF....flutter effect ON or OFF?
« on: January 01, 2025, 12:39:47 PM »

Hi mates!

I'm flying and testing my additions to DOF and while playing Jasta 5 static campaign I'm also looking at other campaigns to test with....

Anyway in more than one post there is the mention about FLUTTER....someone recomands to turn it OFF due limitation of FM for WWI planes....someother recomands to turn it ON....

I have tested both condition and can't find a great difference....but as the flutter effect is related to the dynamic of the air stream at high speeds this should cause a more wings crash prone attitude at speed above never exeed speed....

Anyone could give me some more experience about?

Could FLUTTER ON give a little edge to AI due its greater situational awareness while flying at crates limits?

AI follows a different set of rules and these settings are meant for player only! The do not affect AI.
I recommend using simplified settings in JTW and DOF since many FMs there are on the edge of being practical. These "realistic" effects become an unrealistic annoyance very fast and often enough in these era modules.

But, as usual, you can try anything and whatever you like.

Infact that's what I mean about AI edge....as it doesn't suffer due have it not implemented or immediately 'recognized' I think that this settings could be more useful for playing a simulated normal flight than a simulated combat fight....
