Might help if you apply a modpack to it to replace the original launcher/exe.
Seen this before, and installing Ultrapack fixed it.

thanks for this suggestion - Im new here, never modded IL2 (only fallout4!)...so may I just say....whhhaaaaaaat?

Wait... are you trying to run the game with it's original executable?
No modpack (BAT, Ultrapack, ...) installed?
No Selector?

Alright. Yeah, that's not supposed to work for ages now.
Securom/Safedisc (IL-2 1946's original copy protection) is not supported by Win 10 for quite a while now, and hasn't ever been supported by Win 11.
You need the "NoCD" exe at least, better yet the Selector, or even much better: A modpack (BAT, Ultrapack, or something else if you fancy a ride on your own risk).
