This campaign is entirely fictional and created for entertainment purposes. All events, locations, characters, and situations are fictional and are not intended to reflect real events, places, or people. The campaign does not promote any political position or ideology.

Static Campaign “On the Wings of Freedom” transports the player to an alternate timeline of World War II, where Ukraine and Belarus as separate states were engulfed in a brutal confrontation with the Soviet Union. The player will take on the role of a Ukrainian pilot who goes through different phases of the war and different operational areas. Attention to detail has been paid to accurately convey the nature and scale of the war, as well as the atmosphere of the battlefield. Our goal was to develop a variety of missions that include both tactical and strategic aspects of war: from air battles and attacks on the ground to naval aviation actions at sea.

In order for the campaign to be displayed in the main menu, you need Forgotten Countries plus Ukraine v.2 by Stefan SG, which can be found here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,38235.0.html

Almost 80 fictional Ukrainian units have been added. Maps of Donbass, Kiev, Crimea have been translated according to the scenario (For example, Crimean Tatar names were returned to settlements in Crimea before they were changed by Soviet authorities). Awards for the campaign, author's skins for aircraft, ships and ground vehicles were made.
The campaign "On the Wings of Freedom" consists of two parts - Defense and Offensive. Currently, we only have the first part of Defense, where the Soviet offensive takes place on the territory of Ukraine and Belarus, and the missions are mostly defensive in nature. The second part of Offensive, where after a strategic pause the Ukrainian and Belarusian troops go on the offensive, is still being developed.

I strongly recommend going through the campaign as Polkovnyk.

Place the entire contents of the IL-2 1946 folder in the root folder of your Il-2. Please note that if you use BAT or other global modpacks, your folder with modifications may have a different name, for example #WAW3, #DBW and others.

Better make a backup of crimea.properties and Donbass.properties

The campaign has two localizations - Ukrainian and English. Thank you. A good alternate history campaign is always welcome.

Hopefully, it will work in BAT. Ukraine (blue) and He 112 should be there already.

This modification:
"Crimean Tatar names were returned to settlements in Crimea before they were changed by Soviet authorities"
is priceless for everyone with regional knowledge and care about historical accuracy. A long overdue correction of the original errors of Maddox and Co.

Thank you too! I tested in BAT, but not completely. Everything seems to work. I remember that Bnr2.mis didn't work, the mission started with the explosion of a plane. Maybe some other missions are broken. Since BAT uses new models for ground vehicles, it is better to turn off my retextures, as they will not work correctly on the new models.
