That was quick. 👍

Note how the cockpit is raised too hight relative to the external model. In this case by about 10cm, if memory serves. In general, the iron sight should not differ too much in height relative to the cillimated reticle when centered vertically. For the P-40F I have already lowered the 'pit by that amount, for initial assessment. The view certainly looks much more correct, with the cowl upper surface being properly seen right back to the windscreen (when the gap is filled, that is.  😉 )

Furthermore, the sight should be raised and moved rearward by a notable amount, which further improves the view for gunnery.

Lastly, the N-3 sight represented here shouldn't appear until late '43 at the earliest, and early '44 being perhaps better. Until then the sight should be the N-2, with a potential variety of 3 or 4 sight heads to choose among, depending on date. That means that probably only the P-40N should have the N-3 sight...
