LeO 451 from GBI/12 and GBII/12,1940 UPDATE!
« on: January 17, 2025, 11:16:42 AM »

Hello everyone! I have finished a skinpack for LeO 451 from GBI/12 and GBII/12 from May-June 1940. They are made on a Template made by leperemagloire, to whom I thank again for his kindness. There are 23 semi-historical skins in the pack, more or less. I know that not all the planes had the squadron emblems painted on them, but for more color I "painted" them. I will also do one for GBI/31 and GBII/31, so that the entire Groupement 6 is represented. From the photos I saw that all these bombers had peeling paint, it was probably not of good quality, so I tried to make them look more tired. I hope you like it!

Beautiful! For years I’ve had two blank skins - one French and one Vichy. I had no idea that leperemagloire made a template for this plane as well. We have dozens of skins for planes that never left the drawing board or were never designed. More than 500 Lioré et Olivier LeO 451s were produced.
Thank you very much indeed for the beautiful skins, this plane deserves attention after all those years. Although it is outside your focus of interest, its further career (Vichy, Italy, Germany) is also interesting. And you have a template... 😊 😊 😊
Best regards,

With pleasure,gentlemen!
For the tactical numbers of GB 12 I was not sure and even now I am not clear what the order was, but for GB 31, just last night I found an article - https://lesconilquideau.wordpress.com/leo-95-ne-repond-plus/ - which specifies the tactical numbers within this group, but does not say what color. Probably white and red with a white outline. I also found some graphic representations of the LeO 451 from GB 31. So it is possible that GB 12 had the same, but a photo confused me. Two LeO451 aircraft with the number 6 red with a white outline flying in formation with another LeO 451 with the number 5 white. The explanation of the photo was red 6 from the 2eme Escadrille and white 5 from the 1ere Escadrille. So, I do not know if I gave them the correct tactical numbers.

All the best!
