How do I remove these edge lines on smoke textures?
« on: Yesterday at 11:03:58 AM »

Trying different smoke textures, I found this. This is in 4.122 Modact. Using GIMP.
Card is GeForce GTX 780. i7 4820, 16GB RAM

Looks like there's something to do with the 3d object UV mapping.

Cases where all looks otherwise OK except that all or part of a thin-line, square outline delineates the square perimeter of the texture suggests that the alpha channel has not pure black along its edge. If you have Gimp or PhotoShop you can check this and fix it by painting black GGB(0, 0, 0).

If a texture is a perfectly, solidly, sharp-edged square where it should not be so, such as irregularly circular for a smoke, make sure it has an alpha channel cut-out, and that the .mat file calling it has tfTestA 1 and  tfBlend 1 at least.
