Japan Airlines Skin For the Fugaku
« on: January 31, 2025, 05:29:40 AM »

Dear All,

The below is a civil skin for Japan Airlines for the Fukagu. The aircrafts long range (hemi-sphere bomber) and carrying capacity (300 people) meant that while ICBM's had rendered it obsolete as a bomber, especially for the superpowers and great powers, it served faithfully as a passenger aircraft into the early 21st century.

JULY 1948:  Emperor Hirohito and his son Akihito's tour of the 'Greater East Asia [and Pacific] Co-Prosperity Sphere'. The aircraft shown, build 35, can be seen today at  真珠湾 (Shinjuwan) Imperial Military Museum, in the Island Chain of  ハワイ (Hawai).

This was also the site of the first post-war summit between the leader of the remaining United States territories and Hirohito, when in 1962, John F Kennedy mediated between Japan and the Soviet Union during the Sakhalin missile crisis, when Nikita Khrushchev wished to place missiles in the USSR's northern half of the territory.
