Markings on a skin (solved)
« on: February 06, 2025, 10:33:56 AM »

Hello all, I would like to find a solution on a "skinning". I would like to use a "No Marking" skin (A1H) to obtain a french skin.
For that I have found a basic "no markings" skin and using a software (Photofiltre) I modifie this skin but what a surprise when I open it in the IL2 viewer to see US marks on the wings !!!!! and when you see the skin on the window screen : nothing !!! the skin is clear !!!!
From where are coming these US marks ?? I join the two skins and in each case in the viewer we have US marks on the wings !!
Any solution please, thanks in advance

I suppose that the appearance of the US markings is linked to the overlay file in the plane 3d and the class code pointing towards US PaintSchemes

Not exactly sure what you're trying to do but I think if you've pre-selected a skin within FMB when building a mission and then you go into QMB to fly, the last skin selected in QMB will be shown instead of your FMB skin.   If you are checking your skin in QMB etc then make sure you actually select it when in QMB.  I hope that makes sense.

So you are saying, with France selected as the nation you are getting US markings?

Hello, no I was talking about QMB. When in my window folder I saw the skin, all ok with french markings. Openning IL2 in QMB, I selected the AD4, search my skin (with french markings ok) and than opening it to make a flight, the wings markins were US !!!!

According previous message, I delete the AD4 mod by CY6 and change it by A-1 Barnesy-Vega mod. I have found a lot of skins and now it's fonctionning, I can modify that skins and fly with them.
That's a mystery  ;D ;D

I' m on 4122 + CUP + SAS

Thanks for your responses

I managed to duplicate the issue with US markings on the wings appearing also if you set markings off. That's why I think this is hardcoded on the model
