Junkers Ju-52 single engine - TGA era
« on: February 12, 2025, 05:25:26 PM »

BAT Danger Zone provides us with the Ju-521M in both float and land version in the TGA section. This single engine large cargo plane was the unsuccessful predecessor to the world famous "Tante Ju".  Only a couple were built and only one was sold commercially to Canadian Airways Limited. It operated in the Canadian "bush" for over a decade between the 30s and 40s.  3 of the skins included are for that aircraft. Schemes 2 and 3 represent different color possibilities for the same aircraft probably during the latter part of its career. Scheme 1 was likely the originally CAL scheme. Scheme 2 is how the static version appears at the Western Canada Air Museum today.  Another float version is SE-ADM which was completed by Junkers and designated K-45C. Military modifications were made in Sweden then used for torpedo testing (in secret??) prior to WWII. The final skin represents the original prototype D-1974. It should be placed in the land version skin folder Ju-521mL. The others go in the float version folder Ju-521mH.  Both 1024 and 2048 skins are provided.  The skins were adapted from Max-the-Hitman & IMME's template collection.  A little esoteric but I hope you enjoy them.  :)

Many thanks Dona, never thought there would be a single engined 52...

Surprising to think of flying over the wastelands of Canada, full cargo, with floats, and all on a single engine!

Cheers
