Train busting "secret" tactics
« on: Yesterday at 09:55:29 AM »

Probably, it's a common trick. I experienced it in Ulltrapack so I put it here.

Train busting on a lovely Slovenia map ( Zuti_Slovenia/Slovenia_On_S).
My Liberator GR is fully set for the fun with bombs, rockets and 4x20mm.
Approaching the train from 7 to 8 o'clock in the shallow dive. Bomb bay open, aligning the gunsight and preparing to launch the rockets...
Suddenly, the train explodes! No other aircraft nearby, no friendly artillery or vehicles.
Most probably, its AAA opened fire and hit its wagons with ammunition. Bigbadaboom.
Train object "Rus.Ammunition Train/AA".

Encouraged by the easy win, I flew to another train (Rus.Equipment Train Type III/AA) and tried the same trick. Nope, AAA promptly opened fire and shot my ailerons before being hit by my rockets. There were no wagons on this train but the platforms with low-height cargo.

So, the trick might work - under special conditions and not with every train.

Yes, this problem is due to two things:
- AAA firing angle (modifiable in technics.ini),
- the type of wagons in front of and behind the AAA platforms.

That's why I put flat, empty platform wagons on either side of the AAA. It reduces the phenomenon...
