From a historical film about the Macchi Mc.202 and restored in color, which you can also find on YouTube, namely this one:

I was struck by a detail of a Macchi at minute 3.14 or so, and it is its livery, it seems to be a tiger skin, quite unusual for the Macchi, but especially for the era, take a look at the film and maybe tell me I was wrong...

This would fit the film and may even be the actual aircraft or at least Sqn.

A popular scheme of done by modellers is this aircraft with a different cowl and wing, probably after battle damage repair.

Serie III were the first 202 arrived in Africa , they originally wore a continental overall green camo....looking at the sprayed regime badge they seem to have had a little hazelnut (nocciola chiaro 4 iirc) color added ...

The Kite at 1:15 is such a Maintenance Depot recycled Macchi of 1st Stormo. Cowling airframe different.

They popped out in every unit, be it a cowling, rudder or wing different.
The few Macchis I skinned included a few of such Hacks. driving me mad, for getting to excercise these camo types.
Plancton, ringlike, flower drops...

The Tiger striped watch the Badge when the Pilot opens his Canopy.
Easy to allocate jump to 3:15 and watch the archer badge, that's unmistakingly 1st Stormo.
