Tutorial 5: Preparing Parts for Exporting and Exporting Process
The 3ds D0 model has now been mapped, has been separated once again into parts according to Il2 nomenclature, the parts have been linked with their Shadows and LODs hologous parts – these last parts have been renamed according to Buggy Buggy exporter requirements – the hooks and collision have been linked to each model part. All is ready for exporting the meshes to Il2.
Step 1 - Settle pivots
Pivots for the mobile parts must be settled as follows:
In order to settle pivots:
Select the part for which you want to settle pivots

Wait for the export process to complete (the white windows at the bottom left of the 3dmax/Gmax screen serves as an indicator of activity)
When the process is completed, press the "Open Listener" button in the MAXScript submenu of the "Command Pannel" area
Check the listener file:
Replace the material names by names existing in your mod folder such as Gloss1D0o, Matt1D0o, etc..
If it is a "cockpit file" suppress the [LOD] entry (including the word [LOD])
Then save your msh file:
If working in 3dmax, simply save your file according to the name of the exported mesh (this name appears at the head of this listener file)
If in Gamx, use a grablistener programm such as GL2F.exe to save the file and then rename it accordingly)
Step 3 - Exporting mobile parts using the Kumpel matrix version 2
Mobile parts:
Select the part
clone the part
