Dunno what the status of this mod is at the moment, but thought I'd post an observation I've made recently. This may have been mentioned in an earlier post, tried to search but came up empty, and didn't want to read all 26 pages of this thread.
For me, this mod works beautifully. I'm currently flying carrier missions in the pacific, had my gear messed up a couple of times by flak. Very cool, adds way more to the immersion. An issue though, is when a friendly AI plane has his landing gear shot up and then makes it back home to land. He does the best he can and crash lands on the deck of the carrier, which is as it should be. The problem is that he stays there. When AI lands normally with gear intact, they fold their wings and then despawn, making room for the next guy to land. Well, if AI crash lands on the deck, he won't despawn, making the rest of us fly the racetrack until the motion of the ship pushes him overboard, or at least far enough to the side that I can still manage a landing.
I don't know if this is even something that can be changed... Would it be possible to get AI to despawn after crash landing at an airfield or on a carrier?
