Hello All,
Need help and I hope this is the right spot.
The HE-51C-1 needs a gun sight.
With open pit all is fine you can adjust for everything.
In closed Pit that is something else.
I know about the shift+F1 and that is bad also.
It seems and I have spent many hours and I record every
flight to watch afterwards.
IT seems the guns shoot low. What I mean by that is you
Can be at point blank range 10M and shoot under in level flight.
You can make hits by covering the whole target with the gun sight
base that is mounted on the dash of the cockpit. Only the top
wing showing. I use Biplanes missions off line for testing.
In this picture the red area is where the bullet stream is.

You have a great Site and I love the Biplanes.
Any help would be nice.

While we can't have a correct gunsight, i'm using the iron sight. Bit tricky, but effective.

I found bug in He-51.
This plane is invisible in distances from 0.7 to 1 km using maximum FOV.

If you want to fix disappearing He-45 and He-51, you can look inside 3do/plane folder in those mods. Open every .msh file in notepad or any other text editor. If the file is readable, you'll find lines

[LOD]
500

close to the beginning of file. If you find these lines, then change 500 to 2000 (if you don't want the plane to disappear) or to 1000 (if you want more FPS and disappearing distance similar to Me-262) and save. You can start from large parts (CF, engine, tail, wings), continue editing smaller parts (keel, stabs) and control surfaces (ailerons, vators, rudder) until disappearing parts don't annoy you anymore. You can leave small parts like gears and prop without editing. That value below [LOD] simply determines how far that part is visible.

Follow these instructions and it will fix that.

Go to the first post of this thread
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,7759.msg79758.html#msg79758
and download - it is not a patch but the updated full mod size 5542Kb

[DJP]  It works fine in HSFX. I used it in a SCCW campaign. Thanks for making it.

cheers

No problem. Just a big thank You. I guess I could not check for damages, the Mossie
didn't had the chance to fire a single bullet at me; see this full flight of the He-51, in a fight for survival.
This plane is so very pleasant to fly* that you forget all about the war, as you roam around, then sh...t drops on you:

A Complete flight of He-51C on map MidAlpen/VIDEO :

I just remembered that I was shot down 10 times out of 10, in Spain; as far as damages goes, I
didn't notice anything unusual except my own demise... Damn those Rata's, especially when you
find yourself alone and outnumbered in the He-51C... ( may be because I kept to inside view ? )

Only once did I survived the full melee; on return home, it was so long and distant, that I put
the autopilot-on, to have a look around for what was happening to others, friends and foe.
When I tried to get back into my plane, it was gone: either I was shutdown by an enemy
going home in the opposite direction, or the auto-pilot got disengaged...

* Landing: Landing some planes is a nightmare (Re2000 or CR-42 ), but others lands like a charm ( Gladiator, He-51 ),
thanks to their flaps. ( Re2000 flaps have no effect but to slow you down, and I mean DOWN... ).

Hi,

Where do I find the original he51c, i think i need the entries in weapons_ru.ini and plane_ru.properties to make this one run. I have done a search here, but didn't find anything.
