Ki-44 Shoki from Tainan's "mod-pack".
« on: September 16, 2010, 02:59:51 AM »

Hello boys and girls :)

Well, i present you the Ki-44 "shoki", a "cut-out" from Tainan's "mod-pack". So now you don't have to download the entire 300+ package to enjoy the Shoki.
And moreover, it has corrected LOD values, ;)
I suspect that someone messed with these because JapanCat was not there to help ;)

To use the Shoki you need the LATEST buttons from SAS.

3D model by JapanCat, and some minor corrections (although some disastrous ones) by the Tainan group i suppose :)
Download the Shoki:

Mirror 2: *
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b375584/n/Ki-44_exe[/url]
Mirror 3: *

Extract the self-extracting file to your MODS folder.

Add to your air.ini:

Ki-44-II-Ko       air.KI_44_IIKO 2                      NOINFO  ja01  SUMMER

Add to your weapons_ru.properties:

######################################################################
# Ki-44-II-Ko
#####################################################################
Ki-44-II-Ko.default                      Default
Ki-44-II-Ko.2x60                         2 x 60kg. Bombs
Ki-44-II-Ko.2xdt130                      2 x Droptank(130 L.)
Ki-44-II-Ko.2xdt130+60                   2xDroptank(130L)+2x60kg
Ki-44-II-Ko.none                         Empty

Add to Plane_ru.properties:

Ki-44-II-Ko          Ki-44 II'Shoki'IIKo, 1942

Enjoy! :)

Hello fellow misfits :)

I see I have been beaten to the finish line for the cutting out of this mod. Well done Rebel!

But I have an extra surprise 8)

In the Tainan Pack 1.20, I saw there is class files for 3 other models of Ki44 also. But no Plane or Cockpit 3d to go with it. They also included different FM's from the one included, and these FM's were included in the latest SAS buttons also...

So I thought I would try to take those class files, and assign them to use the existing Ki44 plane and cockpit models. That gives you 3 more Shoki for the price of one!

This is very experimental, I make no promises for them. They use different parent class, so who knows how the damage and things will behave? I don't, and I don't care either...
I had to substitute one load-out data (underwingtanks) of II-Hei with data from II-Ko. To make it work with the existing 3do model.

I don't bother with plane_ru and weapons entries for this, that is too much work for such an experiment.

Of course you will need Rebel's package for this to work also.

This is purely Beta and Experimental, just a gift to mission-builders and QMB fanatics!

Just a question: where do I put the 4 new classfile files?

Do I unzip the 7z file and use the directory as created? Or do I place the 4 in the previously created directory of the other new Tainan planes?

I know I could try out both methods, but I just spent a few hours sorting out the dreaded 60% ctd after installing several of the new Tainan planes this morning. I would like to avoid a repeat ... not only to avoid getting tangled up again in the install, but to avoid an anxiety attack due to Il-2 ctd'ing and be able to spend more time in trying to finish some maps ...

Great new addition. Thanks a bunch for making this available.

I did notice one thing, when I shift-F1 to look down the sight, it was still the black tube end, no optics. Anybody else have that problem? Limits the useability.
