Thanks DonKastre, couldn't find any pics for it, and I searched for an hour!

There is a photo of the Spitfire MkIV with a 'mock-up' of the 6 cannon arrangement in the follow book:

Spitfire: The History
By Eric B. Morgan/Edward Shacklady
Key Publishing Ltd 1987
ISBN 0 946219 10 9

I scanned the photo on to my computer with the idea of posting it here, but found that I couldn't work out how to attach it to a message! >:(

I hope this helps.

You think you can make a 5 bladed P-51?  8)

There was a prototype P51 variant that was fitted with a 5 blade prop.  This was the XP 51 G, but it wasn't a success:

Yes the P-51 was over engineered by 10% as an extingency due to the necessity of making the prototype in such a hurry. The damed thing could have been even faster. No wonder one of it's initial uses was as a dive bomber, (of the top of my head it was the A-36 Apache at that point, I might be wrong.) It meant it was virtualy unbeakable in normal flight, if they had not made the coolant link between the radiator and the engine so vulerable it would have had the opposite reputation RE: battle damage, than it did.

Hey Riken, got a few ideas, but first, 12x.303 cal typhoon coming?
2: a late model spit with 6x20mm cannon (a mock-up was built)?
Tiffy just came a step closer to being finished. Waiting on word from some guys on helping out on a few quick fixes for this. As for thelate model spitfire. I'm thinking that I could maybe do a 6 AND and 8 cannon verson for a what if plane...even though one probally existed.

yeah, have an actual picture of it in a book of mine, but dont have the ability to scan it.

Do you also think you could franken the dual spit? Seems like something that would be troublesome to the 262 or 163, hell, maybe even the mig 15

Actually, I think I saw that somewhere in here in the works already. I'm too lazy right now to look through everything on the site to find it again. It has a photot to go with it.
