Lancaster Skins for Ranwers' Lanc
« on: March 19, 2010, 02:48:20 PM »

Lovely job Ranwer's, thank you very much for this long overdue aircraft.

You've ignited the skinning bug again though. ::)

Guess I'll be spending another long weekend hard at work with Paint shop.

This must be the most wanted aircraft in the sim next to the Dornier 17, well done.

The campaign builders will be singing with joy and every night fighter jock in the world will
be strapping in.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. 8)

Pete - if you need skining this plane different skin then RAF - navigate to Lancaster PLANE folder and change textures:
- boxfeet.tga
- H2S.tga

and remember save with alpha chanel  :)

It took me some time today but I've finally got the full scheme Ranwers, thank you very much for sending me in the right direction.

Avro Lancaster MR.7, 105/Q of the French Secretariat General a l' Civile et
Commerciale, seen here over a french lanscape although the aircraft operated
in North Africa during 1959.

Markings are missing from the underside due to mapping issues.

Can't manage to get the glazing of the upper turret working, must have done
something wrong when making the boxfoot file. :-[  The real aircraft had the turret
removed anyway so it is no big deal.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. :)

I think I've actually got around the credits problem that has been stopping me uploading any of the skins I've done so far for this aircraft, I moved the original 1.JaVA_Platypus credits to another location on the skin but left them un-altered otherwise.

Here is a link to the Argentinian aircraft, could someone please try this out and let me know if everything installs ok.  Remember to back up the original Lancaster folder so you can restore it to the original configuration.

Thanks Mission_bug,

that you have solved the credits problem.
The Argentinian skin works great.
Hope you can release the Egyptian Lancaster too.

Here is the link to my 4Shared for anyone who would like the files
for the Egyptian Lancaster 1804.

http://www.4shared.com/file/65SZetDT/Lancaster_Egypt.html

I've made a few alterations to the aircraft since the release of the Argentine skin.

I added ribs to the rudders and the flaps, also changed some of the lines and rivets on top
of the fuselage near the tail, nothing major but I hope it improves the look.  Will update the Argentine aircraft when I get around to making more skins for that, shouldn't be long.

This aircraft should have Grey spinners but I don't know how to change those; I found an area on the H2S file to colour but once the props start to rotate the colour dissapears.  ???  Guess there is a way around this but I'll need guidance from Ranwers on that one.

Macchi Fighters join up with 1804 somewhere over Sinai.

Trouble is brewing. ::)

Amid growing tensions in the region four Lancasters of II Grupo Bombardiero,
III Brigada Aerea, Fuerza Aerea Argentina prepare to depart their base to deploy
closer to the front.

The ongoing diplomatic row with the United Kingdom over sovereignty of the Falkland/malvinas islands has resulted in Argentine occupation of the islands.
A fleet has departed Southampton for the South Atlantic.

At the same time age old tensions with their neighbour Chile have resulted in open hostilities in the Maggellan Straits, this for the moment is the most pressing military matter.  The UK fleet is weeks away.

Naval Fighters have been ordered to escort their Air Force colleagues to the front.

The four Lancasters depart their homebase late in the day, unsure of where they will find themselves tommorow.

High above them them the Naval aviators ponder the future.  Conflict on this lovely evening seems so far away, but so near.

There's trouble ahead.
