Avala's Benghalli Islands map

Download 14mb:

Working link by Hubberranz in reply #16 below.

S! to Avala

I asked Avala if he would release his map here and this is what he wrote back.

"To tell you the truth I am little short with the time, so I can’t right now, I must register first (was registered on the old SAS).

But if you want you can share the download links there, I am very OK with that. In other words, if you want to post it on SAS I don’t have any complaints about that and you have mine full permission to do that.

And you have my permission to show this PM if someone asks you.

Cheers mate"

Thanks for the fix. ;D It really is a great map. I think I could spend two weeks flying it and not see everything or get used to the beauty.

Hi Avala,

I downloaded a couple of Quick Missions for your map from AAA but everytime I attempt to play one the map loads ok, runs for about 20secs then I get a windows error message;

APPLICATION ERROR

The Instruction at "0x5ed0530e" referenced memory at "0x0000051c". The Memory could not be read, please click OK ......

My game then shuts down. All other maps etc ok !!

Java problem?

Any ideas ??

Hi, can you younger pilots land on the lake inside the volcano crater on this map and then take off from there? I tried, as you can see... :)

I've made a hidden seaplane base there with guns around the top for protection. Take off is really fun. :o

Well. Better late than never. I don’t have a clue what that would be. Java is not included at all. I hope that this is sorted out now?

Hello, gents!  Here a direct edited copy of a post at AAS, where this map and QM were released first time:

I aimed at one freakish project: Adding as many palmtrees to the Quick Mission for this beautiful Avala map (Quick Mission by fabianfred) as possible without losing my mind.  :)
So I started with the Fang Island and literally covered the dunes and the beach with palms. Way too many, but fun to watch.
Checked RL references from the Pacific area. Wanted to plant the palms mainly between the beach and the forest on the hills.
Turned out this was a bit too much, prone to the dreadded popup tree effect, so I cut that off at Benghalli and concentrated basically on one smaller area there.
For Te-Ney Island I planted palms all over the lagoon and in much less denser numbers all around this island. Same (much lesser density) around Widows Tit.

Skulls got an extra treatment, not as dense as on Fang island but LOTS of palms, also gave this one more of those on the hills and a big bunch in the lagoon.

In addition, I added lots of birds at surprise locations. You need this wonderful mod for that:

http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29391&hilit=Vas+Birds+smoke+mod

(The mission works without it!)

Finally, I added another carrier for fun and no purpose.

I did this for 4.09m. But it should be doable for 4.101m as well, will check that this weekend.
I use DBW and want to add the Benghalli Islands map there. IMO this map is one of the singular most exiting Pacific maps ever to be made. Along with some other masterpieces. This was the 2nd map I added to my first modded install after Korea. :D

Downsides:

Looong load times. You can cook a tea and smoke a palmtree/sticky weed leaf/banana in the loadtime.
Estimated +- 50.000 or more palmtrees added. TBH I have no idea, used the "palms x5" method for each click...lol..
No claim to be more authentical than Avala's great map--I believe his version without trees is more realistically, this is for immersion only. Rather a funjob..well, not exactly TBH it bustes brain to add palmtrees. :)

There are areas which look pretty cool with the palms and others where I, well...too much yet fun to see..
Once you're over the takeoff base you should be fine..expect another FPS drop at one smaller western part of Benghalli. Best use a strong exe.
I added the backup version as well.

As I said, I try if I can add this to DBW, if I fail this was my last post here in this thread reg. QMs...sorry if so.

I just saw this map is already in DBW and the Quick mission BenghalliRedNone00.mis worked easily with and without the birds mod.

No issues loading it.

Cheers

will using static ini checker help ?
also where do i find and then where do I place these objects ?
I sniffed around BAT SFS files thinking to move a few over to my 4.13.4m modded sfs-auto trial and error time ?
with that all time more funner thing of re starting the game every time one needs to check something lol...  :(
