The Pacific

The Pacific Pack, to publish soon :)

Retexture of most of the Pacific maps. Credits to original authors. Some textures are original, others are from other modders, either unchanged or altered by myself. I'm dedicating less and less time to this so I wanted to create a package and publish what I did for myself on all these maps before I stop definitively modding :)

Philippines (by Delvpier)

Kyushu (improved new version)

Okinawa

Hawaii

New Guinea (my last version)

Singapore (improved new version)

Burma

New Guinea - Kokoda Trail (by MrOblongo)

The Slot (by Pacific Team)

Chichi Jima

Korea (by 3BG)

Vietnam (by Mission Bug)

Very interesting looking.

Is that the stock Hawaii or the larger one of the entire island chain?

Thanks

That looks amazing!  8)
I wonder if that BIG city on the first images posted is friendly with the old computers.
Big cities tend to slow down the game a little bit.
None the less, its really looking SUPERB!
Congrats!

We have a larger map for Hawai islands?

Yes- I wanted to do a version that included the island of Kahoolawe near Oahu, that was a target range from just after Pearl Harbor. It's a great historical target range. But about that same time someone else made a bigger map that included it anyway- so I gave up my project. It included the entire Hawaiian Island Chain (except Midway). I just looked at AAS where I got it originally and cannot find it. The folder name in my Mapmods is "tc_hawaain-islands."

Seems like I remember Redko saying he liked that map also. But is seems to have disappeared since the revival over there. I cannot recall the guy's name who did it. Anyone?

Not sure if I could reconstitute the package from what I have, but maybe someone else knows more. Otherwise I do not know where to get it. Sure is a nice map tho :(

@Triad777: I remember two maps of Hawaii that was WIP at AAA. One was a retextured version of the default map by Redko and another Hawaii map (or was it also the default map) was started by ??? and later on (I think) Saburo Sakai took over. The harbours looked very realistic  'cause Saburo Sakai used a lot of relevant documentation when populating it. There was also the suggestion of combining the two maps:  Redko's textures on Saburo's version.
Maybe that's the guy you are referring to?

I remember that map, the preview was amazing but for some reason or another I never got it, and seems to be dissapeared. My Hawaii repaint is of the stock one. Dont' expect anything spectacular, my main point about many of my Pacific maps is that I prefer my personal jungle vs any other I've seen in the PTO maps. The rest of the textures, I try to match them with the jungle and give a natural feeling thats pretty much all :)
