Thanks Uufflakke,

I only want the tree textures mod. Where do I put it mate?

Edit: the map now loads without take-off/landing points. Thanks guys for all your fantastic work and help, but I don't think this one's going to work for me. I'm removing it for now. I might have another shot at it when my headache's gone.  ;D

Hi,
Just d/loaded, installed the map and flew the first "recon" flight! It is obvious that you are in love with the country! Great work, ideal setting for Uuflakke's creations too! Many thanks,  8)

 Dears Agracier & Uufflakke!
I noticed some inaccuracies. Airfields on the runway of olive trees. Some hangars were left with Japanese symbols. (May be for you to make a new texture to the hangar?). Take off with some airfields is not quite correct. This is likely due to the bonding of files to actors.static?

I really like this map. I like your building towns and villages. Landscape and topography on this map is very interesting. Every day I'm flying on it.

For his part, I tried to update a little texture to the map.
At the weekend, I tried to correct the texture airfields, but in the end replaced all textures with new ones. Taken from the western part of Spain. Please take a look - perhaps you and they will do.

What a nice compliment to have new textures made for this map. Especially by Mixx ... having extra and differing versions of a map is always handy since member's tastes differ, as do the seasons as well. And these textures can always be used for other maps. I was thinking of Galicia for instance.

Thanks for making this version, I'll put it up alongside the other version.

Beautiful looking map! installed first time with no issues  :) I fully understand this is a beta and please dont take my comments as complaints 8)
When taking off from the red Airport and flying towards Madrid i get some big fps hits, i can fly lowlevel over the city and get 60fps but sometimes when looking at the city i can drop to as low as 16? i have not encountered this problem on many other densely populated areas, i also notice the view distance seems to be very low on some bridges and buildings, perhaps it is this that is causing the slow down? when everything settles down "in focus" the frame rates are great. Perhaps it is my graphics settings but i seem to only get this problem over Madrid.
Thanks for a superb map to all those involved, keep up your great work!

Cheers Dakpilot

As I assisted monsieur Agracier in populating this map and many of my repainted houses are used here I can say something about it.
First 60 fps is nice and I will never get such a high fps with my graphics cards (  :'() but let me tell you the human eye won't notice the difference between 24 fps or 60 fps as movies have 24 fps and still look smooth to us. But yes 16 is low and I have the same thing especially when looking at a populated city with the horizon in the background. A well known thing(especially with LandGeom=3).
Not just this map but it even occurs on the stock 4.09 Slovakia map. Somewhere I have the explanation by the creator of the Slovakia map or objects and it has to do with the LODs (levels of detail), the amount of objects and the variety of different objects. The more of all this the less fps.
Besides Madrid I have the same fps drop when flying over Canonuk's London or Paris. To be honest I haven't seen that much maps with such a variety of houses cluttered together on a large area like London, Paris or Madrid. Not even on the stock Leningrad or Stalingrad.

About the view distance to be very low. I think you are talking about the pop up distance. Some objects pop up at closer distance 'cause they have less levels of detail originally. That's a neat technique Canonuk used to improve fps (and probably saving loading time) but therefor he had to sacrifice the pop up distance. On the Madrid map it happens to several of his created houses and his bridges.

I hope this explains a bit the fps drop.  :)

Cheers, Uufflakke.

Thanks for the reply, i really like your desert and southern houses work!

I agree anything over 24-30fps is not really noticable and anything above is just usefull as a buffer to keep things running smooth,.
I also read the article by the creator of the Slovakia map and cant for th e life of me remember where either ;)

Dont get me wrong i am only mentioning these points to help with any potential issues on this very promising looking map. thats what a beta is for :). over Canonuk's London the lowest fps i get is about 47 and flying over Valetta or Tunis on the repaint of Central Med https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,8608.0.html
which also uses Canons buildings as a base, i get even higher minimums, and these are also very densely populated. Perhaps as you say it is the mix of varying LOD's that cause the slow down
The very short pop up distances of the bridges is something i have not seen before, but thankyou for explaining about the reason for the buildings.
Thanks again for all your hard work bringing so many great new maps to life 8)

@Dakpilot: I found the article by Mkubani the builder of the Slovakia cities where he explains the fps drop when flying over Nitra:

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=11698

More or less the same reasons of fps drop as I mentioned above.
And it's not the variety of lods that causes a decrease drop but the amount and variety of buildings.
The amount of lods has to do with popup distance and smooth transition when approaching a city.
I still haven't tried out the redone Malta version by Gilb57 but Maraz original version caused a considerable fps drop on my system (or better said: a slide show). That's the reason why he released a light, medium and high version of that map.
Cheers and happy flying!  8)

@ Uufflakke

Thanks for the reply and that link  :)

I also find the original Maraz Malta map a bit of a slide show over Valetta which is a shame, as there are many great campaigns for this map, however  Gilb57's repaint of the mrz_Centmed which includes Malta really is an eye opener as far as FPS over very heavy dense populated cities i urge you to download and have a fly over it  8) just wish there were more campaigns for it or a repaint of the straight Malta map :)

Anyway wandering a bit off topic ??? looking forward to some great civil war action over this beatifully populated Madrid map!

Thanks for all your hard work,

Cheers, Dakpilot

Hi'
I cannot get to save in the Madrid Map.  I got this message from Objectfinder
"Missing objects in your static.ini:

buildings.House$DHouse01
buildings.House$DHouse02
buildings.House$]SEchurch10
buildings.House$DHouse03"

What Object set are they from  ????
Thanks
