Š-50 was a competitor to the Praga E-51 in program of the new reconnaissance and light bomber aircraft for the Czechoslovak air force. In contrast to the Praga, the development of the type Š-50 continued very slowly. And so protytpe of Š-50 made a first test flight up in September 1938. Although this aircraft had weak engines, its flight characteristics have been good. But for the serial version of the aircraft was planed retractable chassis and more powerful engines. The Germans tried type for some time and even expose it on the air exhibition in Brussels in 1939. At long last was Š-50 destroy during test.
